Dayne Beams, after weeks of fluffing around, is finally a Brisbane Lion. Despite Collingwood’s self-imposed dead line of 5pm last Friday, the Pies and Lions were finally able to reach a deal.
In compensation for Beams coming to Brisbane the Pies will receive draft picks 5 and 25 as well as Jack Crisp.
Beams’ addition as well as the newly acquired Allan Christensen means Brisbane can now boast one of the quickest and most potent midfields in the competition, which is great news.
Now it seems as though the only thing we’re missing is a strong, tall body in the forward line. We need someone who can boot goals regularly and assert authority.
In the meantime we have lost Joel Patfull to the GWS Giants which is a loss to our defensive backs.
Are you happy with the Lions activity during this trade period?
